Up and Running

Monday or Tuesday (you choose what day works for you)

You will need and interval training watch. This will be a necessary tool. It can be purchased at Target $40. Later this will be an essential part of your running gear.

Base line run:
Monday or Tuesday run a 3 mile course. Time yourself. This will be used to establish your run pace for your Wed/Thurs run.

****Important****
Any time you miss a scheduled run it is imperative you make it up. Yes, its a drag, especially if you have to run a long one by yourself. Thats why its good to run with someone who is as committed to this as you, if possible. I will always set up a 2 day choice for the 3 day running week. Of course you can do it your way. This is the way I trained and it worked so feel free to follow or share yours. We'd all love to hear it!

I agree with you, my running gears is good, but im getting like an hour and a half for a three mile run, this is good!!, i will stop eating McDonald's for breakfast i think it affects my thinking?? or my weight, i'm not sure:S. raisins are good for breakfast too!!!!!! i need to be more mentally ready!, i think this advice might help. i just... i just seem to stop at stores on my run. i cant resist the sweet taste of taste hot chilli-pepper with cheese! but i keep running after that, once im full anyways. well thank you for your advice i will try to avoid these pit stops. and get mentally prepared to be physically better!

  2. Bullatron, you need to pull it together. Fuel your fire with better choices and you'll get better mileage. Hot chili peppers ..not that kind of fuel. Stick with us kid for better training.

  3. soooo.. what is a better fuel choice?
    should i be drinking more sugars?..wait maybe more salts, because i sweat alot of it soo quickly..just watching TLC, the way people lift pieces of wood.. makes me tired, and sweaty. excellent work out though! like i hate water, and theres no nutrients in it, so i think ill start drinking juice, its healthy! what do you think?

  4. wow! Is this for real? Add some lemon to your water. Not sure I follow. I don't read any mention of food above but great idea to "bring to the table" ha ha. If one runs, who want to blow that workout with bad food choices.

  5. I agree Rach, you really are what you eat. Your body will feel more energetic with clean food choices. You need water, good idea adding lemons, or any natural fruit. A slice of strawberries, or orange squeezed alittle. Lay off the fruit juices, too high in sugars. no fiber in there either. Don't be drinking your calories away.
    Bullatron, you can do it!!!! Why Not?

  6. Hey, I'm on it. I need to watch what I eat too. I do a pretty good job but it is easy to get lazy when your busy like I am.

  7. A good way to eat better and make better food choices when busy is to make food in morning and carry it with you. Even if it means sticking it in a cooler and carrying it with you in your car. Girls have an advantage-we have purses. Being that I have kids, I ALWAYS carry food in my purse. Oranges, protein bars, nuts..... any other ideas from other peeps out there?
